Founded in 1854 by August Winkhaus in Germany as a small hardware business, Winkhaus quickly grew thanks to its expertise and innovative spirit.

Over generations, the company evolved into a major player in locking systems and hardware solutions for windows and doors. Despite periods of war, Winkhaus continued to develop and progressively modernize its production sites.

From the 1960s onward, the company expanded internationally, first across Europe and then worldwide, strengthening its industrial and technological capabilities.
